Focaccia Bread
I love bread! But I’ve honestly never made it, until now. I was always intimidated by the idea of making my own bread. I thought it would be hard. But then I watched Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat on Netflix and was introduced to the amazing Samin Nosrat and saw how simply she made focaccia and I was determined to make it! But her recipe was a little too involved for a first time broad maker, so I searched for an easier one. That’s when I found the recipe from The Cafe Sucre Farine to make a super easy focaccia bread without a lot of steps.
Check out the recipe on their website below!
Focaccia Bread
With less than 10-minutes of hands-on time, the name Ridiculously Easy Focaccia Bread says it all! Almost. It's also ridiculously delicious!
You can find the recipe here.
The details on how I prepared the bread is below!
-
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2¼ teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)
2 cups warm tap water
1 teaspoon soft butter for greasing pan
4 tablespoons olive oil divided
Italian seasoning or finely chopped fresh herbs
flaky sea salt ription text goes here
-
I combined the flour, salt, yeast, and warm water in a large bowl using a wooden spoon.
I put it in the refrigerator and left it in there overnight while I slept.
-
I grabbed a 9in baking pan and buttered the entire pan and then got parchment paper to line the bottom of the pan. After that, put a teaspoon of olive oil at the bottom of the pan.
Take the bowl out of the refrigerator and place the dough into the baking pan.
Roll the dough in the olive oil and tuck the edges of the dough in so that it forms a ball in the center of the pan.
Cover the pan tightly with plastic wrap and let it rise for 2-3 hours.
-
Turn the oven on to 450˚F
Take the plastic wrap off of your dough and take a tablespoon of olive oil and pour it on the dough.
Put some olive oil on your finger tips and with both hands press your fingertips all the way down into the dough until you feel the bottom of the pan creating big dimples in the dough.
After I do the entire pan I sprinkle it with Italian seasoning and salt.
I put it in the oven and immidatley turn the heat down to 425˚F.
I bake the bread for 25 - 28 min.
Take the bread out of the pan and place it on a cooling rack.
You’re Done! Enjoy!
